Summary/Abstract: A part of my history of philosophy presented here is dedicated especially to the thoughts of Plato. I’m trying to show it as a whole, although individual issues are scattered in many dialogues and Plato did not put them up in a systematic way. I think that the purpose of Plato, convinced about the existence of the supersensual reality, as well as about the immortality of the soul, was to show the need to care for the soul and to practice moral excellence, which is achieved inter alia through life in a well-ruled State.
