Polish literature of labor camps (łagry) as an example of littèrature à thèse

Summary/Abstract: The author of the article chooses to analyze the Polish literature of labor camps written on emigration. He classifies such works as an example of literature that for some years was evaluated in relation to political instead of aesthetic factors. It seems that some political conditions as well as emotional engagement of the Poles into the war and occupation period even nowadays influence the reception of such literature making it impossible to regard such works in the artistic context only. The author of the article, however, decides while analyzing these works to refer neither to the certain political mission that they used to have, nor to the rightness of the ideas and beliefs that they express. That is why he suggests the possibility of treating these works as an example of littèrature à thèse.
