Summary/Abstract: This article gives an overview of the most important financial institutions and funds of the EU. Bosnia and Herzegovina opened the negotiations about signing the Stabilization and association agreement on 25th November 2005. It is one of the importantmilestones in the process of european integration. By accessing to the european union our country will also gain access to the funds and banks of that community. The main financial institutions of the EU are: European Investment Bank, European Investment Fund, European Central Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Social Fund, European Agriculture Guidance and Guarantee Fund, European Regional Development Fund, Cohesion Fund.
