Summary/Abstract: Relying on the Udmurt Linguistic Atlas the semantics and etymology of some terms related to the cart are discussed. The Udmurt term urobo for ’cart’ is a Volga-Bulgarian loan. Among the words for ’cart wheel’, pogl'an is a genuine Udmurt word, while pityran and tugyl'as are of Volga-Bulgarian origin, and kol'osa has been borrowed from Russian.
