Summary/Abstract: The report presents the Risorgimento figure of Dora d'Istria (Princess Elena Ghika, writer and feminist, born in Romania, lived and dided in Italy, at Florence) who, thanks to her origins Romanian, Greek and Albanian to the education obtained at the most distinguished universities in Europe and thanks to many journeys made in Europe, and on other continents, became one of the most renowned intellectual personalities of her time. She was appreciated by her contemporaries for her belief in democracy and freedom values of the Balkan people and other peoples, for the shaping of a multinational Europe.
