Summary/Abstract: The author starts his considerations with a statement that in the present time, which to some extent can resemble the old-time migration of peoples, Poles, who have rich emigrant traditions, can play a significant role. The pattern of Pope John Paul II, a great Polish pilgrim, can be a bright indication of what is expected from Poles by Europe and the world. Poles seem to be required not to follow the secularism of Western peoples, but to recover genuine sources of the European culture which flow out of the Christianity. The recovery of these sources appears to be a cultural remedy for the apparent threat of islamization. The author claims that Europe, while economically strong and culturally secularized, is childishly weak in front of much more primitive cultures of immigrants from Asia or Africa. He considers the possible truthfulness of Feliks Koneczny’s thesis which says that in the mixture of civilizations the more primitive one always prevails.
