Charge instruments using improvement in waste management – law adjustments proposals

Summary/Abstract: Poland is in the process of implementation of new system solutions in waste management. Adopted legislation on socio-economic aspects, significantly limits the effectiveness and efficiency of the newly created local systems. These legal provisions have their own political reasons, but it seems that they could be “improved” and thus improve the ability to create satisfactory systems. The article is an analysis of the major socio-economic problems in the context of environmental policy objectives, in particular waste management. This article aims to identify opportunities for change in the interpretation of legal provisions to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of local waste management systems.
