Summary/Abstract: Pınarhisar, a long standing settlement, had been edministred as a town of Vize sanjak during most of the Ottoman rule until the beginnings of twentieth century. It become a town of the vilayet of Edirne in the second half of the nineteenth century for a short time. Finalliy in 1912, it was turned into a town being subject to Kırklareli (Kırkkilise) and stayed so since then. In this study, socio-economic structure of Pınarhisar has been tried to be revealed according to the temettuat registers of 1844 (1261 H.).
