Summary/Abstract: Turkey's relations with Ukraine as one of the countries that gained independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union were commenced in quite a friendly way. Since both countries were aware of the need for each other, it was not hard to carry forward the relations of historical depth. Turkey supported Ukraine in many areas and its issues with the Russian Federation as Ukraine strived to follow policies in line with Turkey desiring to be effective in several issues through the surrounding region of Ukraine. Thus, a strong political, economic and cultural relationship was established between two countries in short order. However, the policies implemented by the Russian Federation to maintain its control over Ukraine hindered Turkey-Ukraine relations from developing further and reaching the desired levels.
