The Evolution of Theoretical Concepts of the Globalization Idea

Summary/Abstract: The notion and research of capitalism and its relation to the national states entered into a new stage in the last twenty years. In literature this new period of the modern world economy's fundamental transformation is known as globalization. An increasing level of integration among the population in various states in modern society is reflected through a greater trade exchange, capital movement, direct foreign investments, migrations etc. However, parallely to those quantitative changes the qualitative ones occur as well in the way of the state's participation in the economic life of the country concerned. Namely, those first changes may be considered as the cause, and the second ones as the consequence.
