Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the research of the reform’s arrangements in 1861 in Russian Chernozem Centre. The time period from 1950 to 2000 years was analyzed. In the history of study is noted several periods: 1) The 50s of 20th century when the historical charters as a source of the studying the reform’s arrangements were put in for the first time (small quantity of the charters, there were no procedure of the charter’s selection). 2) The period from the end of 50s to the beginning of 70s of 20th century when the mass studying of the historical charters from different parts of the country was existed. 3) The period of 1980–2000s when the use of computer technology, the development of a common methodology of studying the sources and application of mathematical and statistical tools were existed. Today we can see the high interest to question about the course of reform in Chernozem Centre. However there are few researches about the conditions of realization reform. Nowadays at the rostrum of source study historical department St. Petersburg State University the researches are being continue study about the results of serfdom abolition in some various regions of Russia. The scientists study the history of the course of reform in North (Vologodsk province) and in Chernozem Centre (Tambov and Orlov provinces). The modern methods of study mass resources allowed to compare results in the various regions and move to study the economic consequences of the reform realization in regions.
