Summary/Abstract: In every economic system the size of the company affects innovative activity. The results obtained in the course of the study indicate that a key determinant of economic development is to acquire new technologies from abroad. Their implementation is usually in the medium and large enterprises. The opposite situation occurs in the micro companies, which, because of capital constraints and risk aversion inherent in innovation activities, are active in this field far less frequently. Small businesses over time become similar in terms of innovative activity to medium and large entities.
