Summary/Abstract: This article has been designed in order to demonstrate that the phenomenon of globalization and its marriage with the religion didn’t appear only nowadays. The defi nition of globalization is opportune because it draws a perimeter of understanding this phenomenon. Aft erward, highlighting the aspects of the globalization of religious ideas in the second millennium, helps us to identify some characteristics similar to those existing today in the post-modern world. The religious missionarism used then as now the commercial routes. In the present article, we want to show how much the religion and the economy infl uenced each other. Analyzing the second millennium, we can demonstrate that the religion has been through diff erent forms of globalization and that nowadays we are not facing something completely new.
