Summary/Abstract: From all times the priests were in all religions the visible expression of the sacred and the priesthood was understood as mediationr between man and divinity. The work of the Apostles was the foundation of the clergy. To the successors of the Apostles has remained engraved as a seal, the Christian dignity that they have shown from their predecessors. Movig along with history, aft er the eff ervescence period of the early Christianity, the role of the clergy began to grow increasingly more.
