Summary/Abstract: The article presents some basic knowledge on the mills and the milling along Drava River in Koprivnica wider region, during the late 18th and early 19th century. In that time, Drava was one of the most important rivers, with huge hydropower potential, widely used for the mills and milling. The mills on Drava of that time were predominantly wooden waterwheels, usually built at suitable location and right on the river banks, or on the sandbanks. Milling was usually done by tenants, or thirlage milling. the mills were grinding wheat, for private and public needs. This relatively stable and well-kept activity had little changes of any kind, milling on Drava River was an important segment of overall economic and social reality.
