Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the content of a historical source which has been neglected by historians. This source is an account of the daily expenses done in 1508–1509 by voivode Miloş, the son of hospodar Mihnea the Bad of Wallachia, during the period when he was hostage in an unspecified Ottoman town. The specificity of the document allowed the author to minutely reconstruct the daily life of the prince and of his suite, made up of a boyar and five servants. The document is extremely useful for reconstructing the daily life at the courts of Wallachian boyars, as it refers to their material and spiritual necessities. As the historical research does not have many relevant sources for this type of approach, the author supports with several arguments the conclusion that the document can be used for reconstructing the daily life at the urban boyar residences.
