Summary/Abstract: Declension of nouns in the Arabic language is considered to be its specific morphological feature. There are many proofs that the case – ending system was inherited by Arabs, and its first written form dates back to the end of the 7th century. Two case – ending declension of nouns, which should be primarily considered in the light of some cases assimilation, is certainly a specific phenomenon in the Arabic language. This declension has been restricted by some formal and semantic reasons according to which there are two main kinds of this type of declension: - the first one, limited by one formal reason - the second one, limited by the combination of one formal and one semantic reason These different kinds of two – case declension become three case declension under some special and different conditions.
