The Magical story “Avatar”

Summary/Abstract: “The fairytale “Avatar” examines the movie, taking the folklore model as base and following the methodology of Vladimir Prop. The article compares the setting, the characters and the plot of the film with their equivalents in the fairy tale. The area of Pandora is analyzed through the world of living and the other side, the actors – with the functional system of seven characters and the events in the movie – with the different functions and courses in the folklore genre. Conclusions were made for the similarities between “Avatar” and the classic tale on structural level.
