Summary/Abstract: The article describes the linkages that have been found between the environmental protection and human rights; it esp. mentions the ways how environmental protection may benefit from applying human rights instruments. It tackles the most recent result of these linkages, the concept of a new human right to a decent (healthy, clean etc.) environment and its recognition in international law. After presenting an overview of a historical development of the right, the author deals with three concrete ways that are possible for future international recognition of the right to environment.
