Summary/Abstract: The author puts forward a piece of information drawn from an Italian work, authored by the abbey Vincenzio Murri, in 1791, concerning the existence, in Loreto (Italy), of a silver statue representing Stephen the Great of Moldavia, praying to Virgin Mary and Jesus, made in Moldavia, between 1484 and 1492, upon the order of the great ruler, and donated to this important pilgrimage places during the Middle Age. This piece of information represents a new and interesting element of cultural history, ascribing a place in the plastic history of Europe to the personality of the great Romanian ruler.
