Summary/Abstract: The study of the socialization of children in Bulgarian Muslim community is centered on two basic problems: I. Muslim concepts on childhood and the position of children in the community. II. Mechanisms of integration of children to the religious community: 1. Ritual socialization or the study of those symbolic actions, which lead to the formation of the religious (Muslim) status of children and the acquisition of the “signs of the confession” (i.e. the appeal to prayer; the naming of the child; sacrifice – akika; sunnat). 2. Religious education, or the process of transmission and conscious reception of the theory and practice of Islam (the reciting of the Holy Qur’an; the rules of namaz, the prayer; the basic knowledge on the six principles of the faith – Iman, and the five pillars of the religion – Islam. The final conclusions are drawn on the significance of religious socialization in the context of the basic triad correlation child (individual) – society (Muslim community) – God (Allah).
