Summary/Abstract: A creative act of an organist constitutes a new quality when using well-known means. The values expressed in and via liturgy give a transcendental dimension to creative acts of an organist. A variety of forms of creative acts is related to organist competences. The establishment of the functioning of a musician in legislation of liturgical music clarifies many aspects of the possibilities of their activity. The questions on the level of education or way of organist functioning are connected with responsibility they take in this public service in favour of church community. The moments in which creative acts of an organist are possible prove how big in scope is the possibility of creative acts. The context of spiritual values appears throughout the whole work as the musicians’ actions in liturgy are in a tight relation to them, expressed through them and inspired by them.
