Summary/Abstract: A junior high school with Polish as a Teaching Language in the Czech Cieszyn is undoubtedly a significant center propagating musical culture in Zaolzie. I have analysed the issues I am interested in based on a few substantial aspects. Firstly, the school creates a possibility of an individual musical development for its students. It is achieved mainly by taking part in musical education classes professionally conducted, as well as the activity of a “Collegium Iuvenum” choir and a highland-style music band “Zorómbek”. Four years of dealing with choral or folk music is a great opportunity to develop personal musical abilities for young people. It is even more possible because all classes are prepared and run in a professional way. What needs to be emphasized here are vocal emission classes professionally run as well as familiarizing junior high school students musical compositions varied in style and very ambitious as far as performance is concerned. Another important form is making both groups involved in school life environment. The local activity is not only a form of making events important to Junior High School better, but also a chance of communing with the so called high culture for all community members of the institution in the Czech Republic and Cieszyn. Also, one should not omitted another important issue, namely an active participation of junior high school bands in musical life in Zaolzie, and at the same time its creative development hoping that traditions of singing in this area will be continued in years to come.
