Summary/Abstract: „Time heals what brain does not“ – this is the sentence by which we can define the existence of the Slovak Jewish periodicals in the second half of the 20th century. The real existence of the periodicals of ethnic groups within the Czechoslovakia (later Slovakia) was conditioned by the fall of the communism in 1989. More favorable preconditions for the existence of the independent public life were the base for the succesive formation of the six Jewish periodicals. The Delet were the only Jewish journal which was available for the public either in bookshop or in selected newsstands. It was available from its formation until the year 2003. But in 2010 The Delet had to change its form because of the lack of funding. The journal was transformed into a web portal. The main part of the given thesis is a profile of the Slovak – Jewish journal The Delet. This journal is the only influential Slovak Jewish paper in Slovakia.
