A Survey of Structure and Quality of Mortgage and Consumer Loan Portfolios of Bulgarian Banks in Terms of Financial Crisis

Summary/Abstract: The article investigates and analyses the structure and the quality of consumer and mortgage credit portfolio of commercial banks in Bulgaria in the conditions of world financial crisis. It lay stress namely on these two kinds of credits because their dominant share in the credit extended to household. The article provides in detail an analysis of changes in household credit, APR and credit portfolio quality over the past 18 months.
