Summary/Abstract: Terms appearing in the literature: delocalization, offshoring and outsourcing, having different meanings are strongly linked with each other. The relationship between delocalization and remaining processes is perceived in different ways, making it difficult for its observation. Equally difficult is the measurement of relocation due to lack of, apart from a few studies, the information obtained directly from the companies. Indirect methods of estimating relocation use FDI flows, intermediate and product trade flows, changes in the volume of employment in the country or region, employment in sectors potentially vulnerable to relocations and those that are likely to be delocalized. The paper presents various approaches to relations that exist between the above mentioned processes and imperfections of methods which are used for estimating relocation.
