Summary/Abstract: The pictures printed here are from Judit M. Horváth and György Stalter’s Más világ (Another World), published in 1998. In some one hundred black-andwhite images, the album presents the life of the Roma in Hungary and Transylvania in all the regions where the Roma live amongst Hungarians. Yet, it is less a documentary than a personal, poetic and dramatic account of impoverished people who are at the mercy of the world, people who offer the most the poor can give to unsolicited and unknown visitors—their trust.
