Summary/Abstract: Article is devoted to modern foreign policy of the Russian Federation concerning the post-Soviet states. At the beginning of the XXI century, there were essential changes of a foreign policy of Russia. On change geo-strategic retreat – 1990s, beginning 2000 became the dominant a trend on the strengthening of the role of Russian foreign policy. The implementation of the integration projects conceived by the Kremlin actively was carried out during the presidency of Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev. At the same time, the objectives were not fully realized due to a variety of causes and factors. Nowadays there is no reason for speaking about political control of Moscow over this space. Also, it should be stated that Russian foreign policy compared with Soviet times has changed significantly. At the heart of the New Deal are now the Kremlin's economic pragmatism and a desire to close the CIS from the effects of powerful global players.
