Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes whether Russian Orthodox Renovationism is an original phenomenon, or just an echo of developments that took place in the Western Christianity at the same time? Moreover, the article simultaneously contributes to our theoretical understanding of what was Russian Orthodox Renovationism in its’ historical development – religious modernism or religious fundamentalism. The paper shows that the Russian Orthodox Renovationism is a modification of religious fundamentalism (so called modernistic fundamentalism).
