Summary/Abstract: The paper presents a new grave of Roman military discovered in the northern necropolis of the Apulum town. The grave no. 29/trench IX was a flat inhumation grave, with a rectangular pit (length = 1,80 m; width = 0,55 m), the skeleton lying in extended position, with both hands on the chest. The orientation was NE-SW. The grave-goods consist of: 1. Bronze ring-shaped buckle decorated with a central circular rib on both sides (fig. 1/4). 2. Bronze stud with a hollow domed head (fig. 1/1). 3. Bronze stud with a hollow domed head (fig. 1/3). 4. Bronze belt stud with a conical head (fig. 1/2). 5. Bronze pelta-shaped mount with two shanks on the rear face (fig. 1/5). 6. Bronze T-shaped brooch with returned foot (fig. 1/6). The closest grave equipment is the very similar funeral assemblage found in the grave no. 19/trench XXXII from the same northern cemetery at Apulum. Part of the objects from these graves, respectively the ring-shaped buckle and the two studs belong, according to the classification made by Oldenstein, to the belt with round buckles –Ringschnallencingulum. Three other ring-shaped buckles were found in the cemetery from Apulum – „Statia de salvare”, another fragment of a similar buckle was discovered in a pit in the southeastern part of the cemetery. Another fragment of a ring-shaped buckle is kept in the collection of the Museum of Alba Iulia, but the context of the discovery is unknown. In Dacia, a belt of Rahmenschnallencingulum – type was discovered in the grave no. 3 from Bruiu (Sibiu county), three studs with hollow domed head and a rectangular open-work buckle belonging to the gravegoods. Half of a copper alloy frame, decorated with circular lines, has been published in a catalogue of small finds from Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa, as well as the one from Gherla. Two similar items were found in the fort of Porolissum and two others were discovered in the bath of the Romita-Certiae fort.
