Summary/Abstract: Absence of synodal meetings between the two Romanian churches determined a debate of this issue in press, the action being initiated by the Romanian intellectuality. Speech was more fervent within Greek-Catholic Curch, whose parishioners were intensely preoccupied with solving this issue. In the absence of ecclesiastical press of Uniate affiliation, after suspension of Sionului românesc, the public debate was moved within laic newspapers, the most acid one being Gazeta Transilvaniei, followed by Federatiunea and Albina. The issue of synodality, translated by ruling the church through clerics and laics, was debated in all Uniate synods gathered to propose permanent members for the metropolitan seat from Blaj. As far as the Orthodox Church is concerned, the issue of synodality was solved by Saguna by elaboration of the Organic Statute which registered permanent gathering of synodal assemblies. This thing was also reflected in press where speech on the issue of Orthodox synods was softer. There may be noticed the absence of Telegrafului român which, although was the official newspaper of the mitropoly, did not deal with subjects on synodality within its pages.
