"Ţiganiada" - The Comedy of Lecture

Summary/Abstract: Taking as a starting point the fact that the editorial destiny of Ioan Budai Deleanu’s Ţiganiada made the work remain beyond the lively literature of the time (having, thus no historic interactions with the dimension of the Romanian literature), the paper in view is trying to evaluate the interpretations of I. Budai Deleanu’s work, most of these interpretations having a comparative source (establishing bonds with the exterior as a matter of fact). Besides, the paper tries to identify an extensive „comedy of exploring the text“ within certain limits of interpretation, established both by the work itself and by the literary canon of the epochs. Still Ţiganiada affirms its autonomy by being selfsufficient and consequently frustrates the real reader. In this way, the area of reading process is seriously restricted by the text
