Summary/Abstract: Values – particulary the moral ones – may be interpreted as the hypostasis of the cultural sacred, inasmuch as their are experienced and understood as absolutely existing as an object of an unconditioned commitment. The author takes as significant the distinction between the belief in values and the belief in norms.
