Summary/Abstract: The concept of sustainable development evaluates the economic, environmental and social areas. The paper shows specifics in spa sustainable development in terms of implementation of the basic function, which is to meet the health care needs in West Pomeranian spas. The article uses SWOT analysis and research surveys among spa patients which show strengths and weaknesses and the opportunities and threats in spa development in Kołobrzeg, Świnoujscie and Połczyn Zdrój.
