Summary/Abstract: The US has been in a diplomatic attack against Iran in early 2010. The Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, avowed sanctions against Iran. She pointed to the Revolutionary Guards as the target to facilitate getting support inside of Iran and from the international society. She has tried to persuade the leaders for support and to reach out to China as the key country for sanctions. Israel has joined these attempts as a natural party of this tension. It lobbies in Russia and Greece to get the support of these countries on the matter. On the other side, Iran's reaction to this attack is not more than a reiteration of its declarations and reprisal threats. Iran regards the issue as a matter of independence and with this perspective is ready to suffer the consequences. Thus, it persists that it has a right to have nuclear power yet leaves the door ajar on uranium exchange negotiations.
