From Soviet Court Archive Material Concerning my Father, Professor Pranas Dovydaitis

Summary/Abstract: At the conference In Memory of the 50th Anniversary of Pranas Dovydaitis' Death, his daughter Laima Dovydaitytė-Juškevičienė delivered a report based on archive documents reflecting the tragic fate of her father after his arrest in 1941. The documents tell how Dovydaitis was arrested as a distinguished Catholic activist and a bitter enemy of communism, and sent to Sverdlovsk concentration camp. There he was betrayed by his fellow conspirators and sentenced to death for his attempts to organise a revolt. He was executed on 5 April 1942. Copies of the documents are published in the magazine.
