Summary/Abstract: Among the many manners of “rationalizing” anti-Semitism (economically, politically, religiously, racially etc.), there is one that has less caught the scholars’ attention, although its manifestation is quite substantial in our cultural history: what may be called literary anti-Semitism. I am referring to the attempts to reject or depreciate the Jews active in Romanian literature on – seemingly – strictly literary grounds: lack of a profound knowledge of the language, lack of adherence to the ethno-cultural and historical Romanian realities, alteration of the Romanian literary specificity (“Judaization” of Romanian literature)...
