UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION

Summary/Abstract: The Council of Ministers of the European Union has finally adopted 27 july 2009, under the same terms that the European Parliament, the application Regulation n°883/2004. This régulation is an overhaul of regulations 1408/71 and 574 / 72 he will replace as of 1er March 2010. The principal objective is: a better coordination of social security schemes. This substantial improvement of such rights pass by on unemployment benefits, by simplifying procedures for seeking employment in all member states. Therefore, although the guiding principles relating to legislation, the calculation of unemployment benefits and maintenance of acquired rights remain unchanged, new facilities job search are offered to nationals of states of the European Union.
