Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to discuss the paradoxical problems of the war logic, which was adopted by the Western bloc particularly after the September 11, 2001 attacks in restructuring their military doctrines, within the scope of Clausewitz’s differentiation of the concepts of war and warfare in his famous book ‘On War’. War and warfare, or to put it differently, the relationship and difference between war and warfare, are tried to be analyzed through the definition of Clausewitz and the academic discussions in the literature afterwards. As a result, Clausewitz’s approach has been found relevant; the claim that war is a political phenomenon is supported and exemplified. Moreover, the outcomes of the situations when war is wrongly considered as a strategy, tried to be shown through cases like Vietnam or Iraqi wars.
