Summary/Abstract: A marble funerary plate has been discovered in the south area of Sarmizegetusa, where the south cemetery of the ancient town was identified. Due to its small size, it is a locullus plate. The name of the deceased, Aemilius Proculus, and the wife, Lucilia Marcia, had not appeared before in the onomastics of the colonia. Based on the male name (just the nomen and cognomen of a citizen not tria nomina), the inscription can be dated to the third century AD, according to the Constitutio Antoniniana.
