Neokič u svetu mladih
Neo-kitsch in the World of Youth

Summary/Abstract: In the article Neokitsch in the Youth World I propose a particular relationship created by actors of subcultural styles as their way of perceiving the world and choosing things and values to incorporate into their lifestyles. With reference to the mass media invasion of new kitsch I analyse the use of provocative images in the subcultural dynamics of punk, stylish distinctions of phonies (local version of mods), ravers, rockers and darkers, as well as the attitudes of diesel and ethnopop representatives. Contempt for sugary sweet contents among the local youth public set in after the appearance of neo-warrior fascination and a series of reflexive moves, „distancing“ post-bourgeois subcultures. In this article I comment effects of kitsch situations developed in neofolk. I also give an idea of how stylised packages of youth subcultural groups are accommodated in neokitsch spaces, while at the same time manage to „deconstruct“ kitsch-relations and resist the challenges of pseudovalues. Finally, I explain postmodern lifestyle projects, in which actors do not behave as slaves to kitsch, but use its mental algorithm flexibily to serve authentic youth needs.
