Summary/Abstract: The innovation term in tourism is not absent in Polish scientific literature of the subject, although publications of this subject most often have a contributory character. Thus, because of the fact that novelties are recognized as an important tool in increasing of the tourist competitiveness, it is justifiable to consider the above mentioned activity in relation to hotel services sector. The basis on which we can deduce in this sector are results of the examination that concern the post-innovation activities in relation to some Lower Silesia hotels. In the examining group of hotels there were 3, 4 and 5 star complexes of different sizes and different capacities (small, medium, and big). There will be not only considered the area of innovation implementation, but also the basic barriers that limit the innovations of the Lower Silesia hotel businesses.
