Summary/Abstract: The author analyses the language situation and policy of the Banat Bulgarian Catholics during the period after 1989 marked by crucial historical, socio-political changes, and socio-economic transformations. The influence of the new communication technologies, media, standard Bulgarian, and lingua franca have been considered in respect to borrowings and innovations in the traditional Banat micro language.
