Summary/Abstract: This study presents Boyatzis' and Kolb's concepts of learning skills and learning styles, and the corresponding assessment tools. They are based on the experiential learning theory and the model of learning as a four-stage cycle. Boyatzis' Learning Skills Profile and Kolb's Learning Style Inventory were administered to 132 subjects. The goal of the undertaken research was determining the reliability and validity of LSP as a first step in its utilization as a managerial development tool The results indicated that reliability and relational validity of the Bulgarian version in general are similar to the original one in relation to internal consistency coefficients, intercorrelation of the scales and correlation with LSI scales. In addition the results of the factor analysis as a whole were consistent with the provided framework. The Bulgarian study also confirms the findings of U.S. research that some revisions within several scales are needed to have clearer representation of the Kolb's framework.
