Summary/Abstract: Human capital is the source of strategic innovation and renewal for organizations. The company’s market value is given by its financial and intellectual capital. Intellectual capital is divided into two: human capital – represented by the employees’ competences, abilities and creativity and the values, philosophy and the company’s culture and structural capital. Human capital is the company’s soul, yet this does not represent their property. Today most managers admit the economy’s strategic implications based upon knowledge and they understood that skilled and motivated employees are key factors for the success of a company’s transactions that wants to remain competitive in the new type of economy that is coming faster and faster. At the end of 80’s, the pursuit of dynamic and sustainable advantages determined the managers to complete the company’s analysis of external competition with the evaluation of its internal competences.
