Life in transylvanian castles in the 13th - 14th centuries

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses different aspects of life in medieval castles of Transylvania. Diverse aspects concerning function, construction and equipment of castles are mentioned like heating, furniture, illuminating. latrines, dungeon, kitchen, workshops, stockrooms, arms, entertainment, games and music, animals, maintenance, provisioning. Medieval castles are thus identified as multifunctional constructions.
