Summary/Abstract: In the article the problem of preserving the memory of the victims of world and local wars. The article also focuses on the need for the establishment and operation of non-governmental international organizations. In Novosibirsk this organization became the Novosibirsk Regional Association of Russian-Austrian Cooperation. It has established links with social and cultural organizations of Austria. Holds a lot of cultural and scientific events. Work in this direction in-cludes all kinds of non-governmental international activities: education, science, sports, art. Unites because the search of his long-dead relatives, based on the direct interaction between people of different generations, continues to live and work in different sectors of society.
