Summary/Abstract: The article considers the problem of the Russian youth mental space transformation, in-cluding one of its main tendencies – polymentality, determining the new bases for interaction between different youth groups. For the contemporary Russian society characterized by its po-limentality the problem of interaction of bearers of different mentalities exists objectively and af-fects the youth especially, due to specificity of their psycho-social characteristics. The article considers factors, determining specificity of interaction between bearers of different mentalities and mutual impact of mentalities and individual mentality types. With respect to socio-group mentality and, in particular, to group consciousness, ideology and inclusion in the process of globalization are exogenous factors of their forming and trans-formation. The youth is an endogenous factor of forming social consciousness. Due to its differ-entiation, the youth as a whole is a bearer of various group consciousness’s and mentalities. In this connection, in contemporary Russian society there are many youth subcultures and move-ments. Within their framework specificity of mental peculiarities of their bearers gets exposed and, at the same time, the problem of their interaction, related to increase in inter-group poten-tial conflicts rate, arises. The degree of youth (as a generation) integration into society deter-mines the strength of their group consciousness as an internal factor of social consciousness transformation. Youth mentality gradually and implicitly affects mass consciousness and, conse-quently, the external structural level of mentality. Thus, the type of social system and its political and historical circumstances determines specificity of interaction between social consciousness and mentality of youth social groups and unions. Group consciousness and socio-group mentalities in all their diversity constitute a strong internal develop mental factor of the contemporary Russian society.
