Summary/Abstract: The Romanesque and Slavic languages, both being of Indo-European origin, still preserve a great deal of common heritage concerning phonetics as well as inflection. We observe some analogous tendencies developed in both Romanesque and Slavic linguistic subfamilies after the era of Indo-European community. They involve descriptive constructions replacing the old Indo-European and Latin inflected passive voice.
