Summary/Abstract: The article is about the relation between Brazil (considered as a rising power) and the United Nations. As a Founding Member the country plays and have always played a significant role in this organization. Brazil was chosen ten times as a non- -permanent member of the UN Security Council. The leadership of Brazil in Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) is also very important. At the same time experts emphasis that the UN needs reforms, including increasing the number of permanent members of the Security Council. Brazil is one of the major candidates, setting an example for positive social changes, sustainable and important involvement in the work of the UN and as a country with increasingly strong international position. However, it seems that this reform will be very difficult.
